Great highlight: On Thursday, March 30, 2023, our colleague Prof. Dr. Andreas Schmid will be present at the session “Vorhaltefinanzierung” with a presentation on “Vorhaltevergütung am Horizont – Implikationen für das Management”.
In addition to the introduction of hospital levels and different levels of care, the Commission of Experts for a Fundamental Reform of Hospital Care proposes as a third core element the introduction of pre-hospital financing. This is intended to help hospitals move away from volume-based payment and is supplemented by per-case flat rates. The DRG system will therefore remain in place in parts. But is this really enough to free hospitals from their “hamster wheel”?
