What does a typical workday look like?
Depending on the project and the tasks, the working day looks different. Therefore, there is no such thing as a typical, always the same workday. The majority of working time is spent working on projects. This includes preparing analyses and evaluations, internal coordination and discussions with customers. But internal tasks such as updating databases, further developing analysis tools, and supervising our interns are also part of the job.
What are the daily challenges?
The Research and Analytics department is involved in a very large number of projects. This requires daily coordination and good management of the various tasks.
Likewise, it is necessary to always keep an eye on the permanent changes in the healthcare sector on the most diverse levels – be it changes in the hospital market or legal innovations – and thus to be up to date with the latest developments.
What were the highlights of the past few years?
The strong expansion of Oberender AG in terms of the number of employees and, accordingly, the number of projects. In this context, the progressive specialization in the various segments can also be mentioned, which is reflected in the development and expansion of the individual areas of competence.
What distinguishes Oberender?
Flat hierarchies, a professional interdisciplinary team, a high degree of personal responsibility and a strong practical and implementation orientation of the projects are areas that distinguish Oberender AG for me.

Why did you apply to Oberender AG?
Positive and good working conditions and an equally good working atmosphere sometimes spread like wildfire.
Did you always want to work in a management consultancy?
After I started working in the healthcare sector with my first job, I knew that this was exactly my field. Initially, the focus was mainly on hospitals or hospital groups. With the change to Oberender AG, I was able to combine “clinic” and a thirst for knowledge in new fields in the healthcare sector.
What does a typical working day look like?
In my function as interim head of administration, I attend many regular appointments to exchange information. These appointments usually result in tasks that need to be coordinated or completed. In addition, I also work operationally on many topics. In between, there is also time to answer e-mails and prepare upcoming appointments. A good day comes to an end when I have been able to complete my to-dos.
What distinguishes Oberender AG?
We are very broadly positioned due to the many subject areas, so that a constant exchange is possible in the expert teams. In addition, there is an enormous willingness to help and also reliability among each other. There is always open communication, with room for criticism and, of course, praise. Why did you apply to Oberender AG?
After several years of working in healthcare, I have always been curious and eager to find innovative working and solution concepts in healthcare. Oberender AG consists of an excellent interdisciplinary and professional team and makes a huge contribution to the digitalization of healthcare.
What does a typical working day look like?
My workdays are very varied and don’t have a “typical” daily routine. That’s also what makes working in consulting so exciting.
What are the daily challenges?
My tasks in the Medical Controlling and Digitalization competence team include analyzing and working on operational and strategic issues in medical controlling. I also support my team in digitization projects, including the planning, creation and implementation of custom-fit cloud concepts for hospitals. In the implementation of digitization projects, a high degree of flexibility, creativity and perseverance is required.
What is special about Oberender AG?
At Oberender AG, I value the collaboration with colleagues. I have competent and helpful colleagues to help me with all my questions. The enjoyment of and respect for each other at work creates a great working atmosphere throughout the company.
What does Oberender AG offer its employees?
Oberender AG organizes many team events for the entire team to get to know each other at the beginning as well as to exchange ideas in general. The team spirit is strengthened in the numerous leisure activities such as archery, kayaking, cooking together and much more. This is how you stay in touch with colleagues, despite home office, customer appointments and numerous different projects.

How did you get the idea to do an internship at Oberender AG and how long did your internship last?
I became aware of Oberender AG at a career fair while I was still studying for my bachelor’s degree in Aalen. When I started my master’s degree in Bayreuth afterwards, I quickly knew that I wanted to do an internship there. My internship spanned a period of 3 months.
The first day: cold water or warm reception?
Quite clearly: warm reception! At Oberender AG, you feel you are in good hands from the very first day.
What tasks did you take on?
In addition to preparing presentation documents on market and competitive environments as well as current healthcare topics or data evaluations, my tasks included researching various healthcare economics topics. I was also allowed to support the presentation of Oberender AG at a career fair. In addition, I was able to work on my own project for Oberender AG, which included the analysis of emergency care in Germany, as well as the application of innovative emergency concepts from abroad.
What experience did you gain?
I was able to further deepen my theoretical knowledge in healthcare as well as improve my soft skills in various application tools. Working in consulting always provides new challenges and a lot of variety, which makes the job incredibly exciting.
Looking back, have your expectations been met?
Absolutely! My primary goal was to get to know the processes of a consulting firm and to find out whether it could be a future work environment for me. These expectations have been completely fulfilled.
